I shouldn't have gotten out of bed today. I just shouldn't have. I bought a fold-up umbrella at the train station. It looked cheap, but it was only 10 bucks. I justified this expenditure by saying that even if it broke after 3 or 4 uses it would be cheaper than cab fare. In the mean time I was planning on getting a large umbrella this afternoon in my lunch break. Then I could keep the mini one in my bag at all times for emergencies when I forgot the big one. First of all umbrella was too small for me. I got wet anyway, just less wet than I would have. Secondly, by the time that I reached school, the pop-up mechanism had broken. After one use. So not it is perpetually trying to open. and the shaft springs open. So It is only be a hassle in my bag. And with all of this, trying to keep my umbrella shut while getting my breakfast at starbucks, I forgot my gdmf breakfast at starbucks after I fixed my coffee. I HATE it when this kind of bullshit happens. It just snowballs.
And it turns out I misunderstood the calendar system and we had a faculty meeting I needed to cater. I got that done at the last minute, but that doesn't look very good on me. So f-ing pissed off right now. And hungry. And wet. And out $10 for the umbrella, and $1.85 for the donut. So I guess I'm having a couple of butterscotches for breakfast. YAY!
Give me a bit longer and maybe I'll be a bit more rational and go out and get a bagel, but for now the universe can suck it if it thinks I'm going to bow to necessity and spend more money than I already have today!
